Chris Ferguson (Jesus)

Nicknamed "Jesus" because of his looks, Chris Ferguson became best known in 2000 when he won 2 WSOP bracelets, including the prestigious $10,000 Main Event bracelet in No Limit Texas Hold'em. During this tournament, he won the sum of 1.5 million US dollars. That year, 512 people took part in the event (this was before the so-called 'poker boom' of 2003). In total, Ferguson won 6 WSOP bracelets during his career.

The creation of Full Tilt Poker

In June 2004, Full Tilt Poker was born. Until 2012, this virtual poker room was one of the most popular in the world (the room was bought by The Stars Group, which owned the PokerStars gaming room until 2020). Full Tilt's co-founders included Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Andy Bloch, Mike Matusow and Jennifer Harman, 5 other pro players who were part of Team Full Tilt. During the Full Tilt years, he could be found at online tables with his custom avatar.

Chris Ferguson the scholar

In addition to these achievements, Chris Ferguson is also a very bright man outside the poker tables. Notably, he holds a PhD in computer science from UCLA and is reputed to be very strong in mathematics. That's not really surprising when you consider that both his parents have PhDs in mathematics, also from UCLA (University of California).

It wouldn't be surprising at all if these skills have helped him throughout his poker career. In fact, Chris was a contributor to Full Tilt's 2007 poker strategy book (titled Full Tilt Poker Poker Strategy Guide). Ferguson's part of the book relies heavily on the mathematics of poker.
