Biography and performances

Andrew Robl was born in the United States in 1986. Rumours have it that he no longer plays poker. But those who know poker players know full well that we've seen dozens of players return after "retirement". Andrew excelled in both international tournaments and cash games. His career winnings in tournaments are in excess of $5 million. He has 9 WSOP paid places, 1 final table, 1 WPT final table and 8 paid places to his name. His most impressive performance came in 2013 when he won the $100,000 buy-in Aussie Millions Challenge. For his victory, he pocketed $1,055,699. He was also seen at the time on NBC's popular Poker After Dark show.

One of the biggest pots in history

Andrew Robl is also known for winning one of the biggest pots in poker history. The hand in question was played between him and Tom Dwan on High Stakes Poker. In this hand, both players found themselves all in preflop. Tom Dwan with KK in hand and Andrew Robl with AK in hand. Robl hit an ace on the flop and completed his flush. Tom Dwan took the badbeat well despite the size of the pot. In the words of Jean-Robert Bellande, for Dwan, it felt like he had just lost a $300 pot. Robl also played another legendary pot that was televised in which he got busted out of the PartyPoker World Open with a 9-of-a-kind against a 4-of-a-kind of queens!

What is he doing today?

Since 2022, Andrew has been more discreet about his life. No paid places are registered to his name in international tournaments. Last I heard, he still lives in the United States with his partner and two children.
